此次考试考查的范围八年级上册1―6单元内容，学年成绩是：平均分80.43;优秀率31.75%;及格率67.41%;差生率13.43%。14个班级高低分平均差20分。
此次考试出题按照7：2：1原则，本着学什么考什么，不出偏题、难题，既要考查所学知识的全面性，重点突出，又要学生答题感到舒心。题目设计降低难度，使学生感到读题顺当易理解。控制满分，减少差生。
如听力部分(20分)，看图题都有一个关键词与图片中的物体有关;回答问题题是回答每单元的课题;对话理解题来源于每个单元的重点对话;填表格题尊重原文直接填入所缺的词，词汇难度降低，都是耳闻能详的词Shanghai，photos，doctor，5，train。
基础知识部分(40分)(首字母填空，用所给次的适当形式填空，单项选择，句型转换)均出自平时教学中的周周清和单元测试中的原题;阅读中的选词填空10分(12选10)出自教材中的原文，平时我们对此进行过背诵比赛的内容。阅读理解题对问题的设计，遵循细读原文可直接发现答案原则。
此次的交际运用与书面表达内容中设计了略拉分题，即为：2：1的内容。
尽管出题意图明确，反复推销，认真思量。但成绩下来还是令人难以思量。
考试结束后，全体教师坐下来对试卷作了认真的分析，从学生答题各试题的得分丢分情况入手，分析原因。并结合前一段的教学加以联系，总结教学工作情况。通过反思我们感到：
此次考试就试题而言，从老师到学生都说并不难。而及格率没达标究其原因，每位教师对自己的班级进行分析感到：
1.学生本身因素。目前学习状态不佳，课堂听点回去不看不巩固，很多学生厌学，明显开始分化。凡是课堂能够跟住老师学习的同学都能及格，在80分以上。即使过去较差的同学本学期努力了也都在60分以上。目前班级形成两股势力，就是学与不学，学了就有成绩。
2.教师本身的因素。课堂管理不到位，对厌学的学生缺乏耐心;对易错点的反馈强化的不够，方法不利;课堂效率不高，课后又不能及时跟进。查缺补漏做的不到位。
下一步工作打算。
1.重基础，抓后进生。各班针对本班的差生实际制定学习目标，促进他们的学习积极性。
2.加强学法指导，充分发挥错题本的用途，强化易错点考练。
3.进一步改善小组互助的作用，提升生生管理的有效性。
4.重课堂的管理，提高课堂效率。
5.弱势班级要勤下班，多指导;多考多练。

一、试卷整体情况分析
本次试题分两大部分，一部分是听力，另一部分是笔试。从本次考试的情况看，失分较多的是听力题，这次的试题主要以听力题为主，就本次考试的情况分析如下。
（一）听力部分
第一题，听录音在与录音内容一致的图片下打“√”，此题是考查学生对句子的理解能力，正确率较高，约为90%。
第二题，听音选出你所听到的单词。此题主要考查学生对单词的辨识能力，学生错题的原因有的是因为粗心、紧张导致的，此题大部分学生能全做对，得分较高（95%）。
第三题，听录音，排序。本题主要是检查学生对句子的认识，多数学生全能做对，少数学生错误原因可能是没有听懂，此题得分率为95%。
第四题，选出你所听到的句子。此题是考查学生对句子的朗读能力，正确率较高，约为96%。
（二）笔试部分
第五题，连线，此题主要是考查学生单词运用，涉及身体各部位的名称。此题有多数学生能做对，少数学生错误的原因是单词不熟练，hand, head混淆。
第六题，看一看，圈一圈，少数学生粗心圈错，总体来说学生掌握较好。第七题，把对应的字母大小写连起来。多数学生完成的很好。个别同学没有掌握好。
二、存在问题
A）由于基础语音、基本词汇不过关，导致听辨能力不行，学生错误率较高。
B）听力的预测能力不够。听力题目的选项在本次试卷上是以图示或文字的形式出现的，学生没能在听力题的间隙时候以最快的速度通过视觉获取必要的相关信息，为后面的听力做好准备。主要是缺乏平时必要的训练。在日常教学中，听力是很难通过老师去检测，即使检测错误，订正起来也没那么简单。
三、整改措施
1、基于学生在听力方面的不足，坚持用英语组织课堂教学，并力求发音准确，语言规范。注重多途径、多形式的口语习练和适当的听力训练，比如多让学生听听录音带。
2、日常教学中要注意灵活处理教学内容，加强前后知识滚动和语言材料的复现，接触积累，综合操练，螺旋上升。同时要注重结合生活实际，突出语言的实用性。开展的交际活动要注意语言形式与意义的紧密结合。教师在平时的教学中还应多注意相关学科知识及文化意识的渗透。

0 引言
本文系绍兴市教育科学2013年规划课题“TEM8考试中英语长难句的理解及翻译研究” (SGJ13058) 的研究成果之一, 展示英语专业八级测试中英语长难句的处理方法。英语长难句贯穿TEM8测试的各部分题型。处理好了英语长难句, 通过TEM8测试就事半功倍了。由于阅读理解在整个TEM8测试中的比重和地位, 这里我们特别以阅读理解测试为展示平台。
阅读理解能力在大学生综合英语能力中占据着重要地位, 学生阅读理解能力的培养是大学英语教学的重点之一, 同时, 不管是全国大学生英语四六级考试还是专业四八级考试, 阅读理解都是分值较重且较难的部分。很多学生惧怕阅读就是因为害怕阅读中又长又难的句子。这些句子像拦路虎, 学生一碰到它们就觉得思路受阻, 在后续阅读中就丧失了应对的能力和信心。而实际上无论英语句子有多长, 其基本结构一般都是主谓宾结构。仔细分析句子的主次成分, 理清句子中的修饰与被修饰关系, 先剔除插入语部分, 以达到对句子的整体把握.这种以分析句子的结构以达到对句子理解的方法被称作“结构分析法”。用结构分析法处理英语长句的研究在之前的研究者中已有尝试。然而尝试把结构分析法引入英语专业八级阅读理解测试的研究工作却少有人问津。笔者在近几年的阅读教学和实验过程中有意识地对学生加强了英语长句结构分析的训练。实践证明结构分析法对于提高学生的阅读能力和成绩是很有帮助的。

1 结构分析法
从结构上看, 不论多长的英语长句, 都是由两大结构, 即并列结构和主从结构 (包括词、短语和句子) 构成;从成分上看, 不论多长的长句, 都是由句子的主要成分 (主语、谓语) 和次要成分 (宾语、定语、状语, 也包括同位语、补足语、补加成分等) 扩展而来。英语是形合性的语言。有时一个英语长句不光由一个主句和一个分句构成, 在主句和分句中又分别存在着若干其他成分.他们或是并列, 或是修饰, 或是插入, 不一而定.导致句子冗长复杂, 理解起来一时难得要领。而英语长难句的结构分析却是解决问题的突破口。
结构分析法的具体操作步骤可以简单分为五步。第一步, 找出主干, 明确结构。即找到长句的主次成分和主谓结构, 如果有宾语, 也要找到宾语, 包括双宾语。明确句子是主从复合句, 是并列句还是倒装、强调或分割等等。这样就对句子有了整体的把握。第二步, 剔除枝桠, 明确层次。定语从句、同位语从句、动词或名词短语、独立结构等限定修饰或插入语成分都是相对于句子主干部分的枝桠。剔除这些成分, 优先处理句子主干部分, 这样使得句子的结构层次更加清晰, 句子理解更加容易。第三步, 找分句动词和短语结构, 并以其中动词和短语为中心, 判断附属于它的各种成分, 组建意群。第四步, 判断意群之间的关系, 分析从句的类型和功能, 理顺句子结构。第五步, 统观全句, 整理归纳, 全面准确地理解句子。
2 阅读理论综述
近些年随着心理学、认知语言学、应用语言学、语用学和语篇语言学的兴起, 对于阅读理解的理论讨论也是越来越深入。传统的理论认为阅读理解是一个自下而上的过程 (bottom-up process) , 这种理论认为要达到对阅读语篇的理解, 读者要从最小的语言单位字母, 字和单词分析入手, 逐步弄懂短语、句子和语篇的含义。20世纪70年代, 美国学者古登曼 (Goodman) 提出自上而下 (top-down approach) 的模式。他认为读者应该是阅读过程中的积极参与者, 读者没有必要逐字逐句的阅读文章, 而是应该利用已有的知识, 选择文章的有用信息加强理解。因此他认为“阅读理解是一个语言和思维互动的过程”。20世纪80年代, 美国人鲁姆哈特 (Rumelhart) 等人提出了“相互作用阅读理论”。他认为, 不管是自上而下还是自下而上的模式都不能满足读者对于理解文章的要求。他们认为在阅读理解的过程中要运用两种方式进行信息处理, 因为自下而上的模式可以帮助读者发现新的信息而自上而下的模式可以帮助读者在语义方面作出判断。因此, 阅读的过程是读者大脑中已有的信息和文章信息的互动过程。同在80年代, 美国人Carrel等提出了和“相互作用阅读理论”相似的“图式理论”。图式理论以认识心理学为理论基础, 认识心理学认为人的知识以图式的形式存储于记忆当中, 并形成了一个巨大的图式网络。根据这个理论、阅读过程是读者对文章的内容作出预测, 然后在文章中验证自己的预测的过程。
从之前有关阅读理解过程的理论来看, 关于阅读理解的理论日趋成熟, 而再好的理论只有跟阅读理解的实践过程相结合使其作用于阅读理解的过程, 达到有效理解的结果才是最好的理论。本人在多年的英语教学实践中发现阅读理解, 尤其是专业英语考试中的阅读理解部分, 存在阻碍理解的最大因素当属英语长句。阅读理解后的题目设置多从英语长句的理解出发, 所以把阅读理解的任务缩小到从句子层面来着手解决攻克, 使得学生提高英语阅读能力、赚取更多的阅读部分分值的目标来得更触手可及, 这未尝不是一种经济有效的尝试。而且自下而上解决阅读问题, 先解决句子, 尤其是英语长句的问题, 更高层次的英语语篇的理解才能展开并完成。
3 英语专业八级阅读理解测试的重点和难点
英语专业八级考试要求测试的是学生的综合能力, 其中既包括字面理解, 又包括推断性理解、评价性理解和欣赏性理解。从最近几年的英语专业八级考试阅读理解部分来看, 推断性理解、评价性理解和欣赏性理解这三类题型所占的比例正在扩大, 而考察字面理解的题所占的比例正在缩小。而以上三类题型的答案相关信息往往来自于英语长句。要求我们理解英语长句或是在理解英语长句基础上进行推断、归纳和总结后得出正确答案。笔者在多年教学过程中有意识地运用结构分析法来帮助学生理解阅读理解中的英语长句, 提高学生阅读能力和应试能力, 经过实践证明它是行之有效的方法。下面我们来看看结构分析法是如何在英语专业八级考试阅读理解中应用的。
4 阅读理解不同题型中的英语长句处理
八级考试的阅读理解题型可以分为三类:细节题、推理题和主旨题, 从近十年的八级真题来看, 细节题和推理题所占的比重较大, 而主旨题的比例则很小。
4.1 细节题
细节题考查考生对阅读材料中一些具体内容的理解和把握。此类题型的问题可以概括为明显的或隐含的由7个“W”开头的引导词引导的就文中具体细节进行提问的句子。它们分别是“what”、“who”、“which”、“when”、“where”、“how”及“why”引导的问句。所涉及到的信息明确具体, 但是由于问句或问题答案所在的相关信息句子冗长, 结构复杂, 再加上信息句与问题句中的关键词的同意替代等现象, 导致答案的确定并不容易。这里我们就要用到结构分析法来迅速掌握问题的中心及相关信息句的结构, 两相对照, 结合选项得出正确答案。如2000年试卷阅读理解中的第24题:

根据题干分析, 此题实际是就“what”进行提问, 结合选项, 我们要找的是作者对Cooke的“what”有指责抱怨之意。根据题干的提示, 答案应在首段寻找, 定位到关键词“Cooke”所在的相关信息句:“If you haven’t noticed, the backstreet boy educated at Blackpool grammar styles himself more grandly as Alastair Cooke, broadcaster extraordinaire.An honorable KBE, he would be Sir Alastair if he had not taken American citizenship more than half a century ago.”
根据结构分析, 我们可以看出第一个句子中的“styles himself more grandly as Alastair Cooke”是句子的谓语部分。由此谓语中的“grandly”和“Alastair”我们可以看出作者情感倾斜于“Alastair”style。用结构分析法分析第二个句子, 名词短语“An honorable KBE”其实是省略了“As”的状语, 从“honorable”一词, 作者的感情倾向也可见一斑, “if”引导的是虚拟条件句, 结合从句中的“had not taken American citizenship”, 作者对“American citizenship”的指责态度就一目了然了。
以上分析体现了结构分析法与关键词在细节题判别中的作用。
4.2 推理题
推理题即根据字面意思推理隐含意义。经常就作者或文中某人对某事的态度、作者的写作意图及文章细节的发展等进行提问。这类问题常以以下句式发问:
What can you conclude from this passage?
What’s the author’s attitude towards…?
What can we infer from…?
According to the passage, which of the following statements is (not) true?
what does…imply?
……
应对这样的题型, 归根结底, 仍然是对句子的处理。根据问句中的主格和宾格, 我们追溯文中的相关信息, 通过分析相关信息所在的句子, 推理判断得出正确的结论。离开对句子结构的分析, 推理判断无从展开。如2010年试卷阅读理解中的第21题:

题干中的“suggest”提示本题为推理判断题, 带着引号部分的关键内容, 我们很快把相关信息定位到文中“It towered above the other building like a citadel, which indeed it was, the outpost of a new age, perhaps a new civilization, perhaps a new barbarism;and behind the thin marble front were concrete and steel, just as behind the careless profusion of luxury were millions of pence, balanced to the last halfpenny.”处。
根据上下文, “it”指代的是上文的a white palace.“just as”引导一个比较状语从句, 把“behind the thin marble front were concrete and steel”与“behind the careless profusion of luxury were millions of pence, balanced to the last halfpenny”进行比较, 那么对应“thin marble front”的就是“the careless profusion of luxury”, 对应“concrete and steel”的就是“millions of pence”。这么两两一对照, 我们得出以上答案应该是选项A。
4.3 主旨题
主旨题考查考生综合分析概括推理能力, 它主要检测对阅读材料整体的把握, 对文章中心主题的理解。主旨题常见的问题有

What can we learn from the passage?
Which of the following is the best title of the passage?
如2004年第18题:

从题干中“The message the writer attempts to convey”来看, 本题考查的文章的中心主旨, 即能体现作者写作意图的题目。要解决这样的问题, 我们要从全局上来把握, 也就是在理解通篇的基础上, 判断推理文章的中心主旨, 作者的写作意图。而文章是由具有一定逻辑的段落所组成的, 而段落又是由具有逻辑意义的句子所构成的, 所以归根结底, 解决这个问题其实仍是解决句子的问题。一般能够体现文章中心的段落出现在文章的首段或末段, 而能展现段落中心的句子一般呈现在段落的开头或末尾, 有时候会出现在段落中间。由此要解决此题, 我们不妨尝试从理解每一段落开头的句子来着手。把文章中每一段落的段首或段尾甚或段中重要的句子整理到一起, 再迅速地就这些句子进行综合分析, 我们基本理出头绪:首段交代发展中国家农民所面临的问题。第二段进一步交代发展中国家农民遭遇的贸易障碍。第三段交代发展中国家遭遇的贸易障碍对他们的影响并得出经验教训。第四段补充了发达国家对此的态度。综上, 我们得出此题的正确答案应为A。
5 结语
综上所述, 英语专业八级阅读理解测试中英语长句的比重大, 结构复杂, 是考试的重点和难点。针对英语长句结构复杂、信息量大的特征, 结构分析法应运而生, 对英语长难句进行简化, 拨开枝杈, 直扑主干, 排除干扰, 层层清理, 最后综合理解其语意。最近几年的英语专业八级考试阅读理解中, 推断性理解、评价性理解和欣赏性理解这三类题型所占的比例正在扩大, 而考察字面理解的题所占的比例正在缩小。而对上述三类题型的理解, 具体涉及到细节题、推理题和主旨题, 其间都渗透着对英语长难句的理解和分析。结构分析法是解决英语长难句理解, 在专业八级阅读理解测试中取得良好表现的突破口。
