do you often use batteries? then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? and just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. the facts and figures are amazing. so would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? if possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more. sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.

we, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. for example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. it is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. in the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. at the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. all of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.

1 沙尘暴的起因机理分析

1.1 物理过程分析

沙尘暴的发生步骤可概括为分离、输送和沉积3个过程。当风力达到使土壤颗粒运动时, 土壤颗粒的分离就发生了。分离的土壤颗粒在风力作用下或在空中或沿着土壤表面输送移动。当风速降低时, 颗粒就会沉积。

1.2 动力学分析

从沙尘暴的动力学原理来说, 在干旱的气候条件下, 强风使裸露、疏松、干燥的土壤表层颗粒分离。直径在0.5～1.0 mm的大颗粒, 因为质量大, 通常只能在土壤表面滚动;直径在0.1～0.5 mm的颗粒, 通常只在短时间内随风而起, 由于重力作用很快便落下来;只有直径小于0.1 mm的土壤颗粒可以被大风刮起来, 悬浮到空中, 随风输送到很远的地方。悬浮颗粒的数量一般由土壤表面微粒多少来决定, 而不单纯受风能大小的制约。

引起土壤颗粒在风流中开始移动的风速值叫临界风速值。临界风速值取决于土壤覆盖物和土壤的可侵蚀性。有植物或植物残茬覆盖时, 土壤临界风速值比光秃表面高, 板结地面比疏松地面土壤临界风速值高。已知农田没有固定的临界风速值, 它取决于土壤耕作和作物状况。

据分析, 沙漠中小于0.1 mm的细小颗粒不到2%～3%, 而农田中细小颗粒占40%以上。因此, 细颗粒主要来自农田和退化草原。

我国广大的北方地区属大陆性干旱、半干旱气候, 年降雨量为200～550 mm, 旱地面积达2 000×104 hm2, 占总耕地面积50%以上。当地十年九旱, 年降雨量460 mm左右, 旱地面积2.9×104 hm2, 占总耕地面积4.5×104 hm2的60%以上, 长期以来, 沿用传统耕作方式, 使地表裸露, 水土流失严重, 为沙尘暴的形成创造了客观的自然条件。所以, 防治沙尘暴的重点应放在北方农田和退化草原上。

2 沙尘暴的防治对策

国际上沙尘暴的防治对策归纳为2点:一是设置风障, 包括林带、灌木丛、高的谷物, 以及对准风向的田间带状作物等, 以改变风向和风速, 减少土壤颗粒的相互分离和输送, 增加沉积作用;二是改善土壤表面状况, 提高土壤抵抗风蚀作用的能力或限制土壤颗粒运动, 减少和控制农田风蚀, 主要是利用生长的作物和残茬的保护作用。

3 保护性耕作的环保效应

3.1 保护性耕作技术内容

旱地机械化保护性耕作作为旱地农业保收耕作方法之一, 其核心内容是通过深松、浅松等少耕、免耕措施, 在尽量不翻转土壤的前提下播种施肥, 尽量减少对土壤耕层的破坏, 从而减少水分蒸发;秸秆直接粉碎还田, 保持尽可能多的茎叶残茬覆盖地表;用化学药剂除草、防治病虫害。

3.2 保护性耕作的经济效益分析

通过对比实验表明, 较传统方法种植小麦, 保护性耕作法种植可增产45.48%;免耕播种减去了传统耕作的翻耕、耙地、整地3个环节, 每0.067 hm2节约费用18～20元, 免耕播种土壤翻动较小, 有利于保蓄土壤水分。田间测定, 免耕播种地块10 cm深处, 土壤含水率为16.8%, 而传统播种地块土壤含水率为14.2%;免耕播种比传统播种提前出苗7～10 d, 苗全苗壮。因此, 保护性耕作具有增加产量、降低成本、保墒蓄水诸多好处。

3.3 保护性耕作的防尘效果分析

保护性耕作法是最大限度地减少土壤耕作和将作物残茬留于地表的耕作法, 是一种改良的、集约的防治水蚀和风蚀的作物生产方法。

保护性耕作法由于采取了少耕免耕措施, 取消了许多传统的耕作作业, 如耕翻、耙耱、平地等, 使地表下松上紧, 抗风雨侵蚀能力大为提高, 同时, 土壤中最肥沃的富含有机质的细小粒子被紧紧包裹于地表之下, 使能随风起舞的土壤微粒减少到最低程度。

另外, 由于作物残留物覆盖地表, 能有效地减少大风引起的沙尘颗粒运动, 既可以吸收一部分风力, 减少风对土壤的作用力, 又能保护土壤颗粒不被风力移动, 从根本上杜绝了沙尘的起源。

躲避不是最好的办法,保护环境就是保护自己,我们需要科学应对。对付泥石流,上海世博会“城市最佳实践区”展出的沙特麦加米纳案例馆就提供了一个好例子:每年伊斯兰历十二月,从世界各地而来的300万穆斯林朝圣者聚居到沙特的米纳帐篷城(见下图)。从远处望去,一个个白色的帐篷紧密排列几乎布满山谷,这里的人口密度已达每公顷5000人,万一发生泥石流等山体滑塌事故与洪涝灾害,后果不堪设想。为了确保300万朝圣者的安全,沙特政府采取了一系列有效措施:①在岩石山上造梯田。可以在灾害发生时对山体滑落的岩石块进行缓冲,削减石块下落的冲力;②在沙土较为疏松的山上使用田网。可以在山体滑塌时让下落的泥沙兜入田网,不掉下山去;③向山体岩石内钉入钢筋并浇筑混凝土防护墙,以加固山基。此外,沙特政府还在米纳帐篷城周围的山上建造了先进的排水系统,以防止因雨水过大而导致的各种山体事故。山上筑有不少大坝,坝下积水通过各种管道将水引流出去,到达各个专门的蓄水池。蓄水池内的水经处理,还可以为山下300万朝圣者提供生活用水。

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My topic is “Give environment more care”. I’d like to talk about some global environmental problems, share some of my stories and show you some data in my speech.

That is a small village of Yunnan province. There are many mountains, forests and rivers. If you go there, I promise you will be amazed by its beautiful landscape. Because you just can touch the nature with your fingers and feelings. You can enjoy the blue sky, flying birds, waterfall, amazing sunset and many other sceneries. When I was a teenager, I often climbed these mountains and jumped into clear and clean river for a swim with my peers. However, after my graduation from high school, I came to Beijing for college. I found something different. Because when I raised my head, the sky’s color was not blue, but yellow. When I looked down, dirty and poisonous rivers are full of unrecyclable rubbish and giving out unpleasant smells. When I looked forward, so many people wore their mouth masks. Everyone here complains weather and environment. It seems so inharmonious between man and nature. Why?

As we know, in the past few centuries, human have made countless remarkable achievements in science and technology to explore the mysterious world better. Conquering nature with powerful tools, people have achieved material prosperity. Meanwhile, environment has been badly damaged. So a series of severe problems come along, such as species extinction, energy crisis, incurable diseases, the three main pollutions etc. All of these factors bring our beautiful planet disasters, humanity as well. Let me show you some statistics. According to the report from World Wide Fund for Nature, the species of entire world have declined by 52 % since 1970. That means about 75 kinds of precious species disappear forever from the Earth each day. In addition, scientists claimed that human now need one and a half Earth to meet the demand for natural resources. Another frightening data from the UN in , there are almost 8.4 million people around the world who die of cancers caused by environmental issues every year. It is so horrible, isn’t it? Man has taken too much from nature, also paid such a heavy price for it. If we don’t try to change these situations, what will happen one or two centuries later?

But, fortunately, the majority throughout the world are aware of the significance of environmental protection. Much many individuals, environmentalists and organizations have taken actions spontaneously. Companies donate part of their profits to support some green projects. Moreover, Government has carried out many policies to conserve endangered species, support green industries and encourage people to live a green life. From a global perspective, though it is a long journey to make the Earth recovered and to live in harmony with it, I do believe that, with everyone’s efforts, we will finally get there.
