我的爸爸在德国首都柏林经营一家小公司，去年暑假里他把我和妈妈接到柏林定居。我因此从浙江兰溪老家来到德国，进入了当地的一所中学读书。
虽然功课有差异，但所幸德国学校的功课进度非常慢，有很多知识我在初中就已经掌握。对于德国同学来说，我简直就是个“天才”，他们都用一种崇拜的心情和我相处。施密德、巴特等几个同学和我住在同一个社区，他们还主动来给我辅导德语呢！
一次放学前，老师对我们说：“明天10月3日是我们德国的统一日。学校从明天开始放假三天。在这三天里，我要你们用平时观察到的东西，写一篇关于统一日的作文！”因为我还不能很好的运用德文，所以老师开了绿灯，允许我用中文或者英语来写。
什么是统一日？我问了施密德才知道，这一天就相当于是我们中国的国庆节，原来就是写国庆作文啊。我小学的老师早教过，虽说邦国有异，但道理应该是相通的，写这种作文我轻车熟路。
我来到德国有二三个月，对德国多多少少有了一些了解，又向爸爸咨询了一些新知识，然后就开始动笔。我用《The hymn of Germany（德国的赞歌）》作标题，先写了德国的各种基础设施建设是多么先进和美好，接着又写民众生活是多么富足和快乐，各种福利是多么完善和健全，对德国政府进行了好一番讴歌，最后在结尾处点题———“这是德国政府努力的结果，这是德国每一个公民的福音，每个人都真切地感受到生活在德国是一种幸福！”
当天晚饭后，施密德和巴特又背着书包来我家给我辅导德文。他们看到我刚写好的作文，饶有兴趣地读了起来。我满以为他们会对我竖起大拇指呢，没想到他们却越读眉头皱得越紧，似乎我的作文让他们失望。我正想开口问是不是有什么问题，施密德开口说话了：“哪能这样写？老师肯定会给你一个零分！”
“哪儿不对？”
“把国家建设好，让民众生活得富足，这是一个政府必须要做到的事情。这好比是你家里请了个佣人，她把卫生搞干净，把菜烧得合你胃口，那是她必须要做到的，否则就是失职。这有什么好赞扬的呢？”
“那应该写什么呢？”
这时，施密德从自己的书包里掏出作文本来递给我。我细细一读，发现他的作文里不是挑毛病就是提质疑：附近有条马路经常堵车，他就质疑德国政府“究竟是视而不见还是无力改善”；街上有流浪汉，他就质疑德国政府“廉租房建设的脚步是不是太慢”；他有个邻居去年死于癌症，他又质疑德国政府“纳税人每年都交这么多钱给政府，政府为什么不加快医学领域的研究？这虽然是个世界难题，为什么德国不能首先突破……”
“这……老师不会批评你吗？”我惊愕地问。
施密德和巴特都笑了。“批评？你这篇作文老师才会批评，我们的老师一直都要求我们这样写！”他们异口同声地说。
“老师要求这样写？这究竟是为什么呢？”我简直惊呆了。
“你想啊，如果我们避开种种问题不谈，总是一味地赞扬，似乎德國政府就已经做得很完美了，没有继续努力的必要了，这个政府和这个国家怎能再进步？所以我们在作文里，都要尽量提出一些质疑或批判，甚至是悲观的瞻望，警告政府再不做某些方面的改善，德国就会没落衰败。只有这样，这个国家才会更有希望！”施密德说。
原来如此！我终于明白了。
